JOB PURPOSE/SUMMARY:
Works closely with the Workshop Supervisor to ensure tasks assigned to the team of Technicians are performed at the Company’s/Brands standards, thereby maximizing customer satisfaction. Strict adherence to operating and administrative guidelines, including the Company’s Health, Safety, Security
and Environment System (HSSE) is required. It is necessary that the position holder becomes familiar with the Company’s Dealer Management System/CDK and also participate and complete mandatory OnLine Training. The position holder must display high levels of professionalism in the performance of
assigned duties and responsibilities.
DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
Foster and builds working relationships with the team of Technicians.
Communicate daily with the Workshop Supervisor referencing the Electronic Repair Order (ERO) and assigns tasks to Technicians.
Review and supervise the activities of the team to ensure that tasks are performed in accordance with the Company’s/Brands standards and repair time.
Seek explanations from the assigned Technicians for all unresolved repairs and ensures that substandard works are corrected before vehicles are road tested.
Assist with the road testing of vehicles to ensure all repairs are completed.
Refer information on jobs requiring additional time to the Workshop Supervisor.
Monitor Technicians work and implement measures to manage idle time utilizing CDK and inform the Workshop Supervisor of non-adherence to accepted Company/Brands standards.
Based on observation and or requests from Technicians , documents a list of technical challenges being experienced by the team and submits to the Workshop Supervisor for follow through.
Lend assistance to Technicians having challenges in carrying out technical repairs.
Perform maintenance, undertakes repair jobs and troubleshoots.
Perform technical work, using scan and other diagnostic tools and refer matters outside of his/her competence, to the Workshop Supervisor.
Deliver completed vehicles to the Workshop Supervisor.
Ensure that all warranty parts are secured and tagged for storage.
Participate and completes On- Line mandatory training within the allocated time.
Prepare various reports
Perform other duties associated with the position.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of Three (3) CXC subjects including English Language and Mathematics.
Certification as an A Class Automobile Technician from a recognized institution.
A working knowledge of motor vehicle systems.
Minimum of Five (5) years’ experience in a similar role.
Demonstrated listening, communication (oral and writing) skills.
Demonstrated problem solving, prioritizing and time management skills.
A good mix of the above.
