An international Health company is seeking a Lead Editor, Content.
You will lead content creation of health-specific editorial content, primarily across blog and in-app channels. You will be a senior member of the content team, and work cross-functionally with leaders across marketing, product, engineering, and science.
What you’ll do:
Develop a cohesive content strategy and calendar for our health education and guidance content, primarily for our blog The Pulse and our in-app channels
Manage day-to-day content creation, including assigning/approving content, editing pieces, and occasionally writing pieces yourself
Identify, hire, onboard, and supervise internal and freelance writers
Analyze multiple data sources in order to understand content effectiveness, incorporate insights into content creation, and maximize overall performance of our health content
Establish and optimize content production processes, in conjunction with the team’s
Head of Production
Collaborate with the team on developing and enforcing cross-platform editorial guidelines, for both substance and tone and voice
Participate as a member of the content leadership team, supporting other initiatives where appropriate
Facilitate strategic discussions, build trust, and obtain consensus from other relevant teams and department leads
Requirements:
8+ years of writing and editing experience, ideally with experience in both shorter and longer-form content
5+ years of experience specifically in health related content, with a deep knowledge and appreciation of the 1) nuances of health information and 2) needs of audiences seeking health insights
3+ years managing a high performing team of content creators
High level of empathy for the target user/member/reader
Experience in analyzing data to inform content creation
Strong communication skills with a mindset for collaboration
Ability to manage the details for multiple projects while also seeing the big picture
