A regional organization is currently seeking a Senior Application Specialist to ensure the availability, reliability, and usability of the suite of applications deployed by the Group by providing technical support and application development.
Core Responsibilities:
Provide second-level application support for in-house network applications.
Ensure routine maintenance tasks and system administrative activities are running smoothly to maintain reliable and effective operation of all applications.
Ensure change management processes are continuously followed to maintain a stable production environment.
Manage production deployment of application patches and upgrades.
Participate in problem resolution related to application issues across business units; this includes working with business colleagues, business-facing IT colleagues, infrastructure teams, external partners, and/or vendors.
Maintain consistent dialog with users with the view of ensuring the building of system integrity and confidence.
Work closely with Business units to ensure the sharing of information and facilitate a comprehensive line of business training programs.
Design and implement reports and dashboards according to business needs.
Create documentation to assist the team with current and future troubleshooting needs.
Collaborate and work with Application Support team to build tools and automation to enable team efficiency and response time.
Liaise with respective IT Team members, end-users and software vendors on software issues and system upgrades.
Collaborate with Business unit leaders on new initiatives and programs.
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or related technical discipline
5+ years’ application/platform management experience, including 3+ years’ collaborating closely with technical IT teams
Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting abilities
Working demonstrable knowledge of the following applications:
Internet Information Services (IIS)
Microsoft Server Administration
Enterprise Web-based Applications (SharePoint)
Microsoft PowerShell & SQL
Change Management Processes
Experience with building documentation
Experience with Ticketing Systems
Exceptional Customer Service skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong attention to detail
Excellent time and workload management skills with the ability to prioritize, work independently, and multi-task to meet work expectations
Self-motivated team player who is coachable, flexible, resilient, and comfortable working under high pressure with multiple deadlines and minimal supervision in a dynamic application environment
